NEW START! FOCUSYEAR BAND 19

Song Yi Jeon is thrilled to announce that she is joining for he Focusyear Band for 18/19. 

Focusyear is a one-year program for an internationally assembled ensemble of nine young artist, who will be coached in a regular cycle by acknowledged masters of the international Jazz scene.

The students selected for Focusyear receive a full scholarship covering tuition and the cost of living, in order to allow them to focus on music exclusively.

Over the course of the year, the ensemble creates concert programs and records an album, which will be produced in the school’s own recording studio. The band will perform regularly in the school’s Jazzcampus club. A club tour is being organised for spring and a festival tour for the summer.

For the Focusyear 18/19 she will be working with Guillermo Klein, Wolfgang Muthpiel, Dave Liebman, Jim Black, Billy Childs, Ambrose Akinmusire, Marilyn Mazur, Julian Lage, Seamus Blake, Nils Wogram, John Hollenbeck, Norma Winston, and Django Bates.

<Movement of Lives> CD Release Concert at the Jazz Gallery

Song Yi Jeon is releasing her New Album titled <Movement of Lives> on the April 5th. 

CD rehease concert will be held at the prestigious Jazz Gallery located between 27th street and Broadway in Manhattan.

New Album of Song Yi Jeon is coming up in February 2018! 

Song Yi Jeon's new quintet has recorded at the Big Orange Sheep in Brooklyn in September 25th. 

It has been 3 years since first EP came out, so please stay tuned!
